A BecomingX Expedition begins before students travel and continues after they return.
Preparation sessions help students build the confidence, knowledge and team skills they need to make the most of the experience. During the expedition, they take on real responsibility, work towards shared goals and learn to respond when things do not go to plan.
Structured reflection helps students turn those experiences into learning — recognising what they have discovered about themselves, how they work with others and what they are capable of achieving.

In Kenya, students may be joined by young people of a similar age who are supported through BecomingX Foundation-funded projects. They become part of the expedition team, sharing their own experiences and perspectives on life in Kenya, and creating opportunities for meaningful exchange beyond the usual visitor experience.
Along the way, students learn to support one another, make decisions under pressure and approach challenges with resilience and resourcefulness. They also gain a deeper understanding of different cultures, communities and ways of life.
The result is an experience that builds confidence and independence, while giving young people a broader perspective on the world and their place within it.
